Program Structure

Classes take place once a week over nine weeks (eight evening classes with a mid-course break) and includes two field trips to visit to local waste management facilities. Training is followed by 30 hours of community outreach to graduate as a Certified Master Recycler.

Despite its name, the Master Recycler Program is about the deeper issue of how to prevent waste. The course addresses garbage, recycling and organics disposal, and trains participants in community outreach, leadership and behaviour change.
